What Stoopd is

Stoopd gives physical objects a digital life story. You can attach a QR code to an object, document its history, and — if you choose — list it for local pickup. Stoopd is free to use. We are a venue for documenting objects and connecting people; we are not a party to any transaction between users.

Transactions happen off-platform

Stoopd never holds money, processes payments, or ships anything. An accepted offer is an agreement between two people to meet and exchange an object in person; payment (if any) happens directly between them, off-platform. You are responsible for evaluating the object, the price, and the person you’re meeting. See our safety tips.

Your account

  • You must provide accurate information and keep your password secure.
  • You’re responsible for activity under your account.
  • One person per account; no bots or bulk-registration.
  • We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.

Object histories are append-only

Stoopd’s core promise is that an object’s story survives its owners. When an object changes hands, previous owners’ chapters (journal entries, photos, price history) remain attached to the object, read-only. Deleting your account anonymizes your identity on those chapters — it does not remove them. Don’t post anything in an object’s story you wouldn’t want to persist.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you grant Stoopd a non-exclusive license to display that content as part of the service (object pages, feeds, search). Don’t post content that is illegal, infringing, deceptive, or harassing; don’t list stolen, counterfeit, recalled, or prohibited items.

Disputes between users

You can flag a transaction from your transfers page and our moderators will review it, but Stoopd cannot recover money or objects exchanged in person. We may remove content, suspend accounts, or annotate records based on review.

Liability

Stoopd is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stoopd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for losses arising from user transactions, in-person meetings, or user content. Our total liability for any claim is limited to $100. Because Stoopd is free, no fees are refundable.

You cover claims from your use

You agree to indemnify and hold Stoopd harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from your content, your use of the service, your transactions with other users, or your violation of these terms or the law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [GOVERNING STATE], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes not resolved informally are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in [COUNTY/CITY, STATE].

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the site. Continuing to use Stoopd after changes take effect means you accept them.
