When I was a junior in college I had just moved into a new bedroom which contained a “nook” for my bed with a large empty space on the wall. I really wanted something unique to fill the space. One night, I was in line at Cane’s after the bar, and I happened to meet an art student. I told her I wanted a painting and she said she’d make me one for $100. I told her I wanted a portrait of Lady Gaga. Unfortunately, my friends all loathe this painting. They say it looks nothing like Gaga. She’s been referred to as Chloe Sevigny amongst others. I can’t bear to part with her due to the fond memories. And the fact that it drives my boyfriend and friends crazy.
